The Remember Officer Noah Foundation

Noah Jacob Shahnavaz was born to be a police officer. Soon after graduating from high school in 2016, Noah joined the United States Army as a Military Police officer. He proudly served his country for five years, earning his Air Assault badge and the rank of sergeant.

After returning to Indiana, Noah pursued his lifelong goal of becoming a civilian law enforcement officer and joined the Elwood Police Department in August 2021. He graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in April 2022 and returned to serve the Elwood community. Noah was well-respected by his fellow officers, department leadership, and the citizens he served.

During the early morning hours of July 31, 2022, Noah was shot and killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop. He was only 24 years old and had served the Elwood community for just eleven short months.
